With over 19 years of experience in the care sector, Care Consultant and Registered Adult Nurse Sam combines her experience of Nursing Home Management with her strong clinical background.
Sam joined the Royal Air Force and qualified as an Aeromedical Evacuation Flight Nurse, repatriating injured Service Personnel back to the UK. As a team leader in this role, Sam was responsible for multiple patients with traumatic and critical injuries. During her time in this role, Sam performed a number of different roles as a Rehabilitation Nurse and Practice Development Nurse, responsible for teaching, development and assessment of competencies with students and junior Nurses, then going on to specialise in Critical Care.
With her undeniable passion, in-depth knowledge and credible first-hand experiences in the RAF, Sam went on to become a lead nurse within a nursing home, and was swiftly promoted to Deputy Manager and progressing to Home Manager.
Sam soon became and continues to be highly respected within the industry, now providing support and crisis management of several nursing homes, particularly with those with complex care needs and profound learning disabilities.
Sam has been recognised for her dedication, nursing care and management and has been previously nominated for the ‘Industry Award for Pioneering’ and also for her work in creating a profound Learning Disabilities Unit from scratch.
Both her career and business experience has allowed Sam to be personally recognised from HRH Prince Charles for her service during a tour of Afghanistan, after receiving a Royal invitation to attend their Highgrove House Garden Party.
Louise Khan
Quality Improvement Consultant
Starting out as a care worker, Louise has now worked in Health and Social Care for over 26 years. She has risen through the ranks and dedicated her career to Older Person’s Care Homes.
Not only is Louise an experienced Home Manager in both nursing and residential services, but she also has much experience as a Quality and Compliance Manager for two large corporate care companies.
We are proud to say that Louise is ETHOS Nursing’s longest serving consultant, having completed a plethora of successful turnaround projects throughout her time with us..
Louise’s top strengths include CQC compliance, auditing and mock inspections, mentorship, care planning and medication management, and is also well known for her ability to turn homes from ‘Good’ to ‘Outstanding;.
Blessing Gurure
Interim Turnaround Manager
Starting out in the industry as a care worker, Blessing has been in care for over 18 years, occupying roles such as Night Care Worker and Care Team Manager all the way to Deputy Home Manager and Registered Manager.
Blessing has successfully turned around five services from ‘Requires Improvement’ to being rated ‘Good’ in all 5 Key Lines of Enquiries, having most recently turned around an ‘Inadequate’ Nursing Home with a closure notice into a thriving service.
With expertise in bot commissioning and decommissioning, Blessings strengths consist of interim management, turn around projects, medication, registration processes, MCA’s and DoLs, and care planning.
Blessing takes pride in his work and is known to confidently enhance teamwork and boost team morale as well as build strong rapport with families and other professionals.
Yvonne Duffy
Clinical Turnaround Consultant
Yvonne has been qualified as a registered nurse since 1987, having held various positions as a Deputy Manager and Senior Nurse in mental health services, both for the NHS and the private sector. This included eating disorders, learning disabilities, forensic services, acute admissions, older people services and acute services.
Having moved to Social Care services in 2012 as Deputy Manager with a promotion to Manager in 2013, Yvonne managed medium sized nursing and dementia homes, consistently gaining ‘Good’ outcomes with CQC and LA inspections.
With a highly successful turnaround record, Yvonne became a finalist in Care Home Manager Awards and her skill and talent of rapid turnarounds was seen by providers, and began being sent to other locations to support homes with quality and compliance, leading to more regional roles.
Yvonne has been a proud member of our team since November 2021 and has an incredible reputation for clinical turnarounds working as a Regional Support Manager and Turnaround Manager.
Alison King
Quality Turnaround Consultant
As the team’s ‘Quality Queen’, Alison has achieved three Registered Manager positions in her career and has spent most of her working life within the elderly care sector, progressing all the way from carer.
After joining her first failing service, she went on to develop and support her own team where she achieved the organisation’s first ever ‘Outstanding’ judgement in a key line of enquiry from the Care Quality Commission.
Alison joined ETHOS Nursing in 2020, bringing her ongoing drive to deliver the best quality of life and care to residents and customers. She works closely with teams with low morale and limited knowledge to help them gain the best skills and experience to make a difference to their residents and customers.
As a Consultant with numerous care qualifications and her in-depth experience in leading the Quality and Monitoring team with over 26 services, Alison has successfully turned around multiple services with closure notices, enabling them to become compliant, and also has extensive experience in Domiciliary Care.
Alison Lovelock
Clinical Turnaround Consultant
Alison became a Registered Nurse in 1993 and has worked in the Private Healthcare sector for 29 years. With a vast experience of turnaround in Domiciliary services and Nursing and Care Homes, the team’s ‘Care Plan Queen’ holds advanced qualifications to teach Dementia courses and promotes Dementia positive environments.
As an experienced regional manager providing professional leadership and support to homes, Alison’s main areas of expertise are CQC compliance audits and the provision of robust action plans for any areas for improvement against the key lines of enquiry, whilst also providing clinical and management support to services in need of urgent action and with poor CQC ratings. Alison also has extensive expertise in Domiciliary Care.
Alison’s passion for person-centred care and effective electronic care planning systems has allowed her to maximise the potential of supporting home managers and help them achieve positive outcomes for homes, residents and customers.
